Ferrin Gallery presents Human Made Wild, a solo show of ceramic sculpture by Jason Walker. The exhibition features a series of painted ceramic sculptures that explore themes of adaptability in the natural world despite human interference.
Walker contrasts his observations from treks in national parks to life in man made environments using the landscapes, flora and fauna from both worlds as source material.
His sculpture takes the form of animals that are living in or encroaching on the urban and suburban neighborhoods such as deer, bear, squirrel and frogs. Through the fully integrated use of painted surface and sculpted form, Walker is able to offer his views on man and nature.
