Creatures of Habitat is completing a new performance piece entitled habitat (de)fragmentation while residing with The Storefront Artist Project in Pittsfield, MA for the month of January 2010.

Dancer, artist & choreographer Stefanie Weber is rehearsing new peices and hosting a variety of workshops and talks, including architect Dana Bixby’s anti-sprawl movement workshop exploring structure, boundaries, embodiment, and architecture, open rehearsals, & an artist salon discussion with Stefanie & Monika Pizzichemi.

Open Rehearsals: Wednesdays, Jan. 13, 20 and 27 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Open Rehearsals give the audience a chance to peek in on the process, ask questions and share feedback. It is helpful to some artists in gaining perspective in how and what their work is communicating as it is being developed. Weber will faciliate these rehearsals and reserve January 20th as an Artist’s Talk in addition to a showing. In the fashion of regularly occurring Storefront Salon series, Weber’s long time collaborator Monika Pizzichemi, an artist from the Empty Set Project Space in Pittsfield and manager of the Wit Gallery will facilitate the talk in order to offer more time and guided discussion into Weber’s process and intentions.
